Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO Review & Buyer Guide: April 2017

Who Is This Snow Blower For?

The Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO snow blower is the perfect option for anyone with a driveway or clearing space up to 300 foot long. If you’ve got a driveway that is several cars wide, this may be a good option for you as well, this is all assuming that you are wanting to only blow snow from your driveway.

If you want to use it in other areas, just follow those same dimension guidelines for reference. It’s capable of working with both gravel and turf as well as the usuals.

The Ariens Deluxe 28 is capable of removing slush, wet snow, hard packed snow, and end of driveway snow accumulated with puddle ice. It’s extremely versatile.

Specifications & Details

When comparing to other snowblowers, it’s not quite as quick as removing snow as the Ariens Platinum 30 SHO is, but don’t doubt its power. After all, it’s also cheaper than the 30 SHO, so keep that in mind. We still feel it is certainly worth the buy.

  • 11 Horsepower
  • 306 CC
  • 14 inch blades, 3 blades in total
  • Throws snow 50 feet away
  • 8 speed: 6 forward, 2 reverse
  • Self propelled drive system

Our Likes & Dislikes

  • Extremely powerful
  • Self assisted pushing (makes it easier to power through snow banks)
  • Huge 14 inch blades

  • Hand warmers are after market
  • No quick turn chute

Dad’s Note: This is a pretty powerful snow thrower, aside from it not being quite as quick as some would hope. If you can get over that, and purchase some after-market hand warmers, I think you’ll be sitting pretty happy
