In the Box and Warranty

In the box, we find the Dewalt DW235 drill, the 360-degree side handle and the chuck key with the holder. The Dewalt DW235 VSR drill also comes with a 3 year limited warranty with a 1-year free service contract along with a 90-day money back guarantee to ensure complete peace of mind.

Look and Feel

The Dewalt DW235 VSR drill has a design which is completely portable and almost fits in the hand perfectly. The trigger controls of the drill are placed almost exactly at the spot where one’s fingers rest while holding the drill, so there is no need of extending one’s fingers to use the drill.

The trigger is elongated, which allows for both single as well as dual-finger operation. This ensures extra comfort while pressing the trigger as well as makes the Dewalt DW235 free from causing incidents due to accidental presses.

Below the trigger is the locking slider, which we feel, is a tad too recessed for comfortable use. It makes the locking mechanism difficult to use and we would have preferred if Dewalt would have provided a more pliable slider. The 360 degree handle clamps easily to the main drill body and is extremely adjustable as the name implies. This makes it extremely easy to hold and use the controller in tight spots and in any position.

There is also a chuck key holder supplied with the DW235 drill which keeps the chuck from getting lost in the midst of work. A nifty feature of the drill is the integrated slot at the bottom of the drill, which can be used for either securing the holder or securing the cord of the machine.

The Dewalt DW235 VSR drill features an 8.5 Amp motor which is adequate for a wide range of light to medium duty tasks. The drill is corded, which means it can be operated continuously without interruptions unlike battery operated drill machines which require charging/new batteries constantly. The 4.2lbs weight is on par for drill machines in the range and does not hinder performance that much.

The drill machine also has a no load speed ranging from 0 to 1000RPM which means more power for finishing the task in shorter periods of time. The ½ inch chuck is solid and seems sturdy for all tasks. The steel gears also ensure enhanced durability and makes the machine resistant to wear and tear.
